Inspiration Take Two!

Back in August I posted an entry on where I find inspiration.  When I am out and about I look at everything, you never know when an idea will hit you.  Last Friday night my husband and I were in Walmart and I walked by a Thanksgiving display and loved the colors.  They went so well together I took a picture of the pans and the whole shopping trip I had visions of Island Indigo, Delightful Dijon and Rich Razzleberry dancing around in my head.  I couldn’t wait until the weekend so I could make some cards using those colors!!

Here are the pans that were on display:

And here are my creations:

Since it was a Thanksgiving display I decided to go with that same theme using the Paisleys & Posies set and the Give Thanks saying from Suite Seasons.  Both were made with a resist technique.  Tuesday I will have a video tutorial on this technique so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss it!

Like I tell my customers all the time, you all have inspiration inside of you already and you never know when it will hit you.  You just need to be ready when it does!

Paper Pumpkin – September 2016

Here is the adorable Paper Pumpkin kit for September 2016 – Something Good to Eat.  It comes with the supplies you need to make 16 treat tubes you can fill with Halloween goodies.  It includes a beautiful stamp set, tags, linen thread and a Stampin’ Spot in Old Olive.

dscn0558

As always here are the treat tubes assembled per the instructions.  I made two with the tags that have the pictures already on them and two using the blank tags to create my own.  For those I used the pumpkin stamp in two very different ways, one as a traditional pumpkin and the other I turned into a Franken-pumpkin, the bolts on his neck are made from the pumpkin stem. Here is a close-up of the treat tubes.

dscn0560

I know many of you aren’t as thrilled when you receive a project other than cards but in that little orange box comes a lot of goodies including awesome stamps that you can use to make some fabulous cards!

dscn0562

The first one uses the flower stamp, stamped in Crushed Curry and Chocolate Chip, making the perfect sunflower.

dscn0564

Next up the same stamp but using Island Indigo, Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride changes the whole look. I added a few accents using stamps from Flower Patch and made my own background paper.  This makes a nice cheery card and voila this set can be used any time of year!

dscn0563

Last card is a quick Halloween card using Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Pumpkin Pie then add some Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper and a little sponging for the perfect easy card..

Double Z Gate Fold Card Using Merry Mice

DSCN0533.jpg

Today’s share is a fancy fold, not sure the official name but to me it is a Double Z with a Gate closure, so I am calling it a Double Z Gate Fold card.  I love that it is very easy to do and always a hit with everyone.
It features the sets Merry Mice and Wonderful Year and of course no card of mine wouldn’t be complete with out using my trusty Aqua Painters or the Big Shot.
As a side note, I do LOVE my Big Shot and I know it is a HUGE investment.  With the holidays on the horizon, why not add it to your wish list and maybe you will find one under your tree!  For more info on how to do this please check out my blog post from September 26, 2016.
Another way to get the Big Shot is to have a workshop and earn Stampin’ Rewards to help with the cost. It can be in your home with friends, collecting orders from the catalog or why not try a Facebook workshop!  Contact me for more details.
Enjoy today’s share!

Halloween Treat Box

dscn0530

Hello everyone!

It has been a very busy few weeks, between family commitments and not feeling well,  I apologize that I have not been able to devote as much time to my stamping business as usual. But the beauty of having my own business is that I can set my own hours and if I need to take a little time off I can.  That’s one of the reason I love being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator!  As long as I meet my minimum requirements for the quarter I can take off as much time as I need to.

But I am back and have been busy in my stamp room this past week creating projects and videos for the upcoming holiday season, I can’t wait to share them with you!  I also spent the entire day with two fellow demonstrators on Saturday planning our upcoming classes showcasing all the great products in the 2016 Holiday Catalog and including some great gift ideas.

Today’s share is a cute little Halloween Treat Box utilizing the Gift Box Punch Board. This tool is amazing!  It can make several different sized boxes in both square and rectangle shapes and once you get the hang of it they are so easy to put together. Not only great for holidays treats and small gifts but perfect for wedding favors too!

Enjoy!
