Learn the Art of Paper Crafting: Introduction to Rubber Stamping

Students will learn the basics of rubber stamping by creating five birthday cards suitable for men, women, teens and children. No experience is necessary. Learn the Art of Paper Crafting: Let’s Emboss

Embossing is a fun technique that will take your card creations to a new level. Students in this class will explore two different methods; thermal, which is the shiny raised images you would see on a business card, and dry, which is embossing using a die cut machine that will produce beautiful raised images. Students will create five general purpose cards such as: thank you, thinking of you and sympathy. Please bring a pair of sharp scissors and adhesive, such as double-sided tape to class. All other supplies will be provided. Students will learn different ways to color their stamped images like a pro by making four cards, all using floral images that are perfect for the spring. They will explore several different mediums such as alcohol markers, watercolor pencils, and ink pads for watercolor. Students will learn how to make unique designs for your cards to really make them unforgettable. They will explore four different “fancy fold” card designs that will be sure to impress the recipient. What exactly is a fancy fold? Most cards open as a book but how about a card that expands to form its own stand, one that opens up like an accordion or one that is 3-D? Due to the extra time needed to create each card, students will only make four cards. Please bring a pair of sharp scissors and adhesive, such as double-sided tape to class. All other supplies will be provided.
